About Donation

Donating Life

The generosity of the American people is seen in the more than 125 million registered organ, eye and tissue donors who are motivated to save and heal the lives of others. With so many designated donors, why is there still a shortage of donated organs? Why are there nearly 125,000 men, women and children–21 of whom die waiting every day–still in need of lifesaving organ transplants, and thousands more in need of tissue and corneal transplants?

Despite continuing public education efforts, misconceptions and inaccuracies still persist.
